Amidst the Moral Attack on Abortion Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words - 1

Amidst the Moral Attack on Abortion - Essay ExampleWade (Payment, 1993). However, plane until today, abortion has been consistently challenged by many Christians and anti-abortionists because they find the act immoral and cruel. According to an article by Haven Bradford Gow (2002), abortion is a violation of compassionate rights and that making abortion illegal is necessary to guarantee preborn persons equal rights. In this essay, I aim to challenge the views of those who oppose abortion by addressing three issues the model of killing a fetus, socio-economic outburst, and womens civil rights. As women make up 50% of human population (UN Statistics Division, 2002), they deserve all the rights accorded to every individual. In the moorage of abortion, women have the rights that a fetus does not have until its personhood can be established. Going back to the case of Roe v. Wade, the personhood of a fetus is generally dumb to begin between 22 and 24 weeks (Payment, 1993). In the same case, the concept of personhood is viewed as different from the concept of human life. Human life occurs at conception, only fertilized eggs used for artificial fertilization are also human lives and those not implanted are routinely thrown away. If abortion is murder, then it is fine to say artificial fertilization should be also treated as human killings.
